The Royal Court
The friendly Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins of Keone o 'io Bay.
Over 100 leaping,
spinning, dancing dolphins
racing towards us.
We anchored the boat just
inside the bay and watched in awe, as they rubbed their bodies up and down the hulls inspecting
every inch of the artful boat that
had just arrived in their
neighborhood.
Bossman
Sparkles
Each day on the
water brought new lessons.
Bossman, the lead dolphin
would bring his pod to us.
Scouts
Three scouts and a beautiful female
we named Sparkles always took position
under the bow of the boat.
Negotiator
Sacred Bonds
Princess
With a leaping command
he would signal the dolphins into position.
He understood
that we understood
his commands.
If we stopped he would
stop the entire pod and wait.
Silver Bullet
Jewels
Emerald Seas
By showing respect we created a special bond.
